Liives Releases “The End” February 13

The End Press Release

Christian Victory announces his new music project Liives with the release of his first single ‘The End out February 13th.

Today, Canadian/Newfoundland award-winning (ECMA, GMA) singer/songwriter Christian Victory announces his new music project Liives with the first single ‘The End’ slated for release on February 13. The track serves as an atmospheric crescendo that reflects on how people respond to their own mortality. Out on February 13, ‘The End’ sets the tone for Victory’s expanding musical scope post his other acclaimed projects (Informants, The Someone).

“Death connects all of us,” Christian explains in a release. “People don’t like to be reminded that their life will end, but when we are, it put things in perspective. It separates petty things from worthwhile things. The song is about the absurdity and beauty in humanity’s mortality.”

Listeners of “The End” will find themselves on a climactic voyage –  beginning with sorrowful ambient textures and lush harmonies. The song then subtly introduces feelings of hope and anticipation with a fusion of synth bass, arpeggios and complex beats – leaving us wanting more at the end.

The track was co-produced with Peter Mol (Zerbin, Smokehouse, 12 Palms) and mixed by grammy-winner Alex Jarvis (Keb’ Mo’, Future Thieves).

About Liives

“Liives is my attempt to investigate the human experience – to not hide from any of it – and to see beauty in all of it.”

The songs of Newfoundland singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer, Christian Victory – Liives – emerges out of the covid lockdown of 2020.

Victory is recognized from several other music projects (Informants, The Someone) as a frontman/guitarist where he toured internationally, winning multiple awards (ECMA, GMA), and playing 500+ shows with crowds from 50 – 15000.

With an intimate yet anthemic sound, the project delivers an atmospheric fusion of indie-alternative and cinematic-pop. Drawing on the influences of artists like Bon Iver, Coldplay, Sigur Ros, and Thrice – each song carries the essence of time while simultaneously holding the hand of what it means to embrace uncertainty.

When the pandemic shut the world down, the lifetime musician was forced to navigate his identity given that his life as a touring artist was now lost. Christian’s sense of confusion and longing for authentic humanity is how Liives began.

“The songs that surfaced came from a place of both sorrow and wonder,” Christian explains in a release.

In the aftermath of the pandemic, Liives is Christian Victory’s most honest and boundary-free project yet. His forthcoming music will be released throughout 2023.
